To be energetic
To be energetic throughout the day one has to take the food which releases energy slowly. This quality is present in food made with wheat, Jowar and millets. Fat is not present in them. These can be taken in the form of bread or porridge. Avoid food which have no nutritional values and decreases the sharpness of mind. Stay away from foods like noodles and breads. These foods make one lazy. A sweet after food makes one drowsy in this season. Avoid foods with oil, ghee, butter, sugar . Take balanced diet. Take at least cup vegetables with rice. If it is raining take food made with pulses like green gram, chick pea, Bengal gram and corn. Raw food should not be consumed in this season. Take only boiled food.
Be active with soups
People try to take tea to be active when the weather is cloudy. Limit the consumption of tea for 2 to 3 times. Instead take green tea, black tea or lemon tea. Soups or best suited for this season. Prepare spicy and hot soups at home. Chicken and vegetable soups are most energetic. If the day is to be energetic start the days with breakfast which contain proteins. Take seasonal fruits after breakfast instead of tea. Take these fruits at snacks time for better results. One should take balanced diet this season. Carbohydrates and proteins are to be taken compulsorily. Take hot milk before going to bed. This helps for a good sleep. Get up early in the morning. Laziness can be driven away with exercise.
Children to older persons have to be careful about the food they ear in this season. Otherwise one may have to suffer from diseases. Immune system may be affected.
For tiny tots: Give finely cooked food to children. Fiber content should be less in their food. Feed them the food which has more proteins.
Fruits and seasonal diseases
Cough and cold are the main health problems of this season. Increasing humidity levels in the weather and going out in rain, cause the bacteria attack the human health. Polluted water and untidy surroundings lead to diarrhea etc. Over indulgence in eating also causes problems. Take light food in this season. Give importance to freshly cooked food. Take boiled and filtered water. Stay away from oily foods like fries. Take seasonal fruits like banana and orange which contain c vitamin. Orange, sweet lemon, guava and pomegranate can also be taken. Limit the consumption of dry fruits. Take coconut water instead of tea and coffee. Do not consume outside food. Prepare food at home. People suffering from diarrhea should take banana, apple juice etc. Road side chats attract everyone when the weather is cool. Polluted water used here may cause diseases. Try to prepare these foods at home.
Every year nearly 3.5 to 18 million children are dying due to Diarrhea in rainy season. And gastric problems are very common. Pollution of water and food are the main culprits. Whatever be the season care should be taken about the food and water that is to be consumed whether outside or inside the home.It is better not to consume street food as the water gets polluted easily in rainy season. Digestive system of the body also becomes slow. So take grilled or baked food. Consume them without oil and butter. Do not take junk food or fried food.
Use fresh vegetables for cooking. Cut fruits and vegetables used in food are better option. Fiber is good to the body. Fiber gives the strength to fight toxins and bacteria produced in the body. Buy only fresh vegetables. Wash them in clean water before using them for cooking. Do not use damaged vegetables and fruits. Do not use any detergents to wash them. The fruits or vegetables may retain the chemical in the detergent. Use refrigerator to store fruits. Cover the fruits to prevent bacteria.
Food poisoning is caused by three reasons. Biological, chemical and physical damages are the causes of food poisoning. Poultry products may have Salmonella bacteria (Poultry eggs); Trichinella Spiral Parasite may be present in pork. The fruits may contain e-coli bacteria (Apple juice), Cyclosporine Parasite (Rasp Berries), Hepatitis – A virus (strawberries). The chemicals used for agriculture are also influencing the health of human beings. Chemicals and antibiotics are used on fruits and vegetables. So these should be washed before consuming.

For children: Give them bread and veg sandwiches. Do not give those jams and ketchups. Fruits and popcorn are good for them. Take care that the food should have two to three cereals. Beans, wheat etc should be included in the food.
Elders: Consume a little food. Take care about the snacks. DoRainly not go for junk food. Consume very little oil. Do not take fried food. Plain popcorn, toasts and soups are better options. Do not take out side food like juices .
Spicy Food
People like to eat spicy food in this season. Dry items and crispy vegetables are most like by the people. Rich gravy varieties are also a favourite. This type of food helps to increase heat in body. Spices like ginger, garlic, coriander, pepper etc are good for the health of youth as well as elders.
