magazine animal-people ..kid art
This is a great project for getting little imaginations moving.
- Have your child search through magazines for a picture of an animal's face.
- Cut the animal's head out of the magazine, and paste towards the top of a blank paper.
- Ask your kiddo to give the dog (or whatever animal you have selected) people clothes! Give some helpful suggestions to get them started: a dress, a top and pants, a hat, shoes, etc...
- Use watercolor to add a nice splash of color. Hang & enjoy!
- After you finish up, try challenging your kids to come up with a story for their creations. (Maybe even cut them out, glue to card stock-or a paper bag-, and use them as puppets!) Please share if you have any other great ideas!

Children need your presence
Parenting is a procedure of upgrading and taking care of physical ,emotional, communal and intellectual growth of a child from early years to maturity. It is the most important part of life. But most parents , in the modern society, neglect this , they don't spend time with children, they just buy expensive gifts to their children, and ignore the fact that, their children needs their presence but no the presents. As a result, the children are not having proper upbringing, which in turn has a bad effect on the society.
Parents start with protecting their children, teaching them to talk and walk and do several other things, training them at every step to face the real world when they grow up and become independent self-confident adults. They start out with making all the decisions for the child and then slowly let them have little choices and later share reins with them in decision-making processes concerning the family.
Then, the 'adulthood' arrives ever so slowly and yet so suddenly your little ones struggle to build their careers, find a spouse and become a parent. They move away from homes to make their own nests. This time is quite hard for parents who are so longer used to their children's presence that they feel so lonely without them. This is the time when they need to realize that what their child is now achieving is the result of their constant efforts.
They have to shift from using parental authority with their kids to being 'friends' of these new adults. It is a time for a new role. Even adult children need love, guidance and insight from their parents from time to time, though they may get caught up in their own lives and get less time.
This is also the time to set healthy boundaries so that your children can know how much of love, financial and emotional support and guidance they can expect from you and where they are crossing the lines by being over-dependent or abusive to you.
As children pass into adulthood, the time for independence for both parents and children is very important for a healthy parent-child relationship.
As children start to shoulder more and more responsibilities, they want your guidance and support but also the faith, independence and approval for whatever decisions they make. The society and your child's life are undergoing many changes and you are the one to establish the line between helping your child and holding their hand.
It is advisable to plan ahead for this transition period so that you can face the situations more easily, when the time comes. You need to help your growing child to establish his or her own identity, balance your priorities, find ways to fight loneliness and save for your future and old age while your children need to prepare themselves for financial and relationship struggles, make a career, deal with work pressure and peer pressure and develop their own political views amongst many other things. Only open and honest communication between parents and adult children can assure a functional relationship between them, which is full of love, respect, freedom and responsibility

This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain…
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this ‘sludge’ reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks: · Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be
the left arm hurting,· Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.· You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a
heart attack.· Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.· 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep
do not wake up.· Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful
and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive…
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we’ll save at least one life.InShaAllah

- To encourage the practice of sports such as running, swimming, shooting and riding, and their sports that make the body strong and active in a whole some atmosphere.
Methods for mental preparation:
- To teach reading and writing and to ensure a superiority in all kinds of knowledge and sciences.
- To practice attentively looking at all creations and events around him which will enable his mental growth and give him the correct inference capabilities.
- Touring or traveling in the land and pondering all the different marks and signs of Allah and the history of previous people and nations.
Methods for moral preparation:
- Showing the values of good deeds and their effects on the individuals and society; also showing the effects of bad deeds, all within the child's capability of understanding.
- Parents should be a good example in their behavior because children like to imitate their parents in their sayings and their deeds.
- Teaching the child the religious principles and tutoring him in worship, taking into account the child's capability of understanding. The Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H.) had said, "Order your children to pray at the age of seven."
- Treating children nicely and kindly; the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) taught us that practically.
- One of the important things that parents must teach their children to select the good company and the avoid the bad, because children are always influenced by their company. The bad behavior can be transmitted through bad company.
- Encouraging the child's sense of belonging to the Muslim nation, by teaching him of the brotherhood between Muslims, teaching him to care for Muslims in any land, and that he is part of the Muslim body, to feel joy when Muslims are joyous, to feel sad for Muslims' sadness, and to do best to achieve the Muslim nation's goals. All of this can done practically through by:
- Taking children to mosques and introducing them to their brother in Islam regardless of race, language, or origin.
- Teaching the children the history of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) and his companions and the history of Islam with in to the child's capability of understanding.
- Encouraging children to sympathize with Muslim problems and to contribute to the solutions such as the poverty problem and to donate some money to the hungry Muslim children.
- Taking part in the celebrations and festivals with Muslims, and sharing picnics and creating ties with their Muslim brothers of the same age.
- Growing the sense of distinction from society, and that does not mean arrogance because arrogance is forbidden: but it means the sense of being a Muslim and that Muslims are different from non-Muslims in their sources of belief and behavior. Clarify that the society is good and bad, so as a Muslim, take and benefit from what is good and leave and avoid what is bad.
- Growing the feeling of love of Allah, his Prophet, Muslims, and all people. This love will lead to special behavior towards all those loved.
This is a general guideline, so every Muslim can take care of his children and know the correct path that must be followed, so we can do the job we are entrusted to do as Allah proscribed, as well as the responsibility the prophet has clarified to protect the future generations of Muslims, as Allah said in surat At-tawbah, verse 105, what can be translated as, "And Say Do deeds! Allah will see your deeds, and (so will) his Messenger and the believers. And you will be brought back to the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. Then He will inform you of what you used to do."

The water part of milk is hot and wet and it softens the stomach and provides the body with beneficial moistures.
Milk is best when it has just been milked and its value decreases by the passage of time. Also milk is better forty days after the animal has given birth.
The best type of milk is the most white in color, as it has a good scent, delicious taste, mildly sweet, less fat and light consistency.

Milk is not favorable for the head, the stomach, the liver and spleen.
Drinking excessively is harmful to the teeth and the gums. In the Sahihain it is narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) once drank some milk and then asked for some water and rinsed his mouth saying. “It has fat.”
Milk is not good for those suffering from fever and headaches and is not favorable for the weakness in the head and brain.
Excessive drinking of milk causes darkness in the sight, sight impairment, gout, kidney clots and swelling in the stomach and the intestines.
These side effects will be neutralized when mixing milk with honey, ginger and so forth for those who are not used to drinking it.

Guidance on combination of food
A few Important Points
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) never mixed fish and milk, milk and sour foods or two hot dishes or two cold dishes, two sticky dishes, two constipating dishes, two laxative dishes, two heavy dishes, two liquid dishes, or two types of food that produced the same condition.
Also he (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) did not join between two types that caused opposite effects, such as constipating and diarrhea or easily digested foods with heavy foods, broiled with cooked foods, dry with fresh foods, eggs and milk or meat and milk.
He (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) never ate a food when it is rather hot, nor old food that was heated for him the next day. Further, he did not eat any salty or foods such as pickles. All these types of food are harmful and cause the health to change for the worst.
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) also used to neutralize the harm of some foods by their opposites such as when the food is hot, he neutralizes its effect with a cold food, and when it is dry with a wet food. E.g. eating ripe dates with cucumbers and dried dates with butter.
He (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) also used to drink the water of soaked dates to neutralize the effect of heavy foods.
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) used to discourage sleeping just after eating food because it hardens the heart.
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) did not drink (water or milk) with his food, because the drink would spoil the food, especially when the water is hot or cold.
