magazine animal-people ..kid art

This is a great project for getting little imaginations moving.   

• Have your child search through magazines for a picture of an animal's face. 

• Cut the animal's head out of the magazine, and paste towards the top of a blank paper. 

• Ask your kiddo to give the dog (or whatever animal you have selected) people clothes! Give some helpful suggestions to get them started: a dress, a top and pants, a hat, shoes, etc...

• Use watercolor to add a nice splash of color. Hang & enjoy! 

• After you finish up, try challenging your kids to come up with a story for their creations. (Maybe even cut them out, glue to card stock-or a paper bag-, and use them as puppets!) Please share if you have any other great ideas!
